Concert: Steve Kaspar - Etes-vous prêt à ne pas finir votre monde… !? from Casino Luxembourg on Vimeo.

Concert: Steve Kaspar at Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain. 19 July 2013.

Upon the occasion of the traditional “Hommage to Franz Liszt” - which commemorates the last public appearance at a piano of musician and composer Franz Liszt, at the Casino Bourgeois, on 19 July 1885 - the artist and musician Steve Kaspar presents his very original sound world: a creation commissioned by the Ministry of Culture upon the invitation of Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art contemporain.

Steve Kaspar (Luxembourg) participated and studied in the “Nouveau Théâtre Musical” (Cologne “Musikhochschule”) under the direction of Mauricio Kagel and also had a very strong leaning towards the electro-acoustic and electronic world. Between 1989 and 1996, he was dedicated to the cycles of designs and, since then, has favoured video, audio-visual installations and, above all, sound compositions, performances and concerts which are somewhere between noise, raw art and sound decor.

His work is regularly shown and performed in Luxembourg, Belgium and elsewhere. He has notably collaborated with Japanese dancer, Yuko Kominami (One’s Voices); the music group, United Instruments of Lucilin (Isa-The Reply); trumpet player, Herb Robertson (Sympathy…alive); visual artists, Gast Bouschet/Nadine Hilbert; and cellist, André Mergenthaler (Cave of Light)… Not forgetting the discographical publication of the CD box-set (250 copies published), Soundfield, a coproduction between the publishing house, “La lettre volée”, and the label, Sub Rosa (Brussels).

LOGIC IS NOT THE ANSWER from Joanna John on Vimeo.

Cosmic panic is a pivotal experience for human. It’s a frequent feeling accompanying incidents caused by emotional contact with nature, art, music etc. It can come i.e. in meditation or during psychedelic session. Integration of this feeling is necessary to cross the abyss of the mind and to stop being helpless against the stream of life. Meditative shots and a spoken word based on Zapffe’s essay open the door of consciousness and help to accept that we are only visitants in this jungle of blind mutations.
