León Prozak le alquila a Mefistófeles su cabeza para proponer algunos números de Circo. Estas escenas, animaciones propuestas por diversos artistas plásticos, son el centro de la película, el placer de la pintura en movimiento.

Las pinturas animadas tocan diversos temas que caracterizan a sus autores, como la política, en el caso de Zalamea o Adriana Espinoza quien hace retratos de desaparecidos. Rafael Dussan y Daniel Winograd se preguntan por el erotismo. Hay también arte abstracto con Edgar Álvarez, el raro humor expresionista con Loochkartt, o bien un tema místico como en los casos de Carlos Santa y David Manzur. Una variada paleta de autores que expresan su visión del mundo desde la pintura y el dibujo en el cine.

León Prozak lends his head to Mefistópheles for a series of circus acts. This film consists of kaleidoscopic scenes, animations, made by different visual artists, whose work is based on the pleasure of painting time. These animated paintings take on several topics, from politics to eroticism, by expressing shocking vision on the world.

Australian artist Andy Thomas specializes in creating ‘audio life forms’: beautiful abstract shapes that react to sounds. In this animated short, he visualizes two recorded bird sounds from the archives of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision [beeldengeluid.nl] in Hilversum.

An increasing amount of sounds and images from European archives, museums and libraries are available for creative re-use. For the Europeana Creative Challenge, we’re looking for innovative projects that use archival material available via Europeana (europeana.eu) in a creative way. Send in your own idea to create, for example, a mash-up, an app or a game at ecreativechallenges2014.istart…. The winner will be aided by specialized professionals in realizing their project.
